Call the Midwife voted best TV show of the last 25 years in Radio Times poll!

Neal Street's Call the Midwife has beat hit shows like Game of Thrones and Line of Duty to be named the best series of the last 25 years in a new poll.

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Radio Times website, a poll was released asking the public to vote for their best show of the last 25 years. And thousands of people responded, with Call the Midwife being named the winner with a 25% share of the vote, beating many popular Emmy and BAFTA winning shows.

Series writer and Executive Heidi thomas said:

"All of us on the show are absolutely delighted to hear that RadioTimes.com readers have voted for us. It was just a really lovely surprise."

"When you’ve been going on for as many years as we have, you know you’re not the thrill of the new anymore, so I think it says a lot about our audience's loyalty. But also about the fact that we’re doing something right in keeping the show fresh as we move forward. That in itself, I think, is the most encouraging thing."
