Hamnet

Academy Award winner, Chloé Zhao, has directed and co-written Hamnet, based on Maggie O'Farrell's bestselling and multi-award winning novel of the same name.

Jessie Buckley (Women Talking, Frankenstein) and Paul Mescal (Gladiator II, All of us Strangers) star in the film alongside Emily Watson (The Theory of Everything) and Joe Alwyn (The Favourite).

Hamnet reveals the profound and enduring love between Agnes (Jessie Buckley) and William Shakespeare (Paul Mescal), and how the death of their beloved son inspired the creation of Shakespeare's timeless masterpiece, Hamlet.

The film will be released in the US in limited theatres on 27th November 2025, ahead of a wide release on 12th December. UK and RoW dates to be announced.

Hamnet is a co-production with Hera Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, in association with Book of Shadows, for Focus Features.
