Simon Farnaby (Wonka, Paddington 2) has adapted Enid Blyton's best-selling children's classic The Magic Faraway Tree which has been directed by Ben Gregor (Britannia, Cuckoo, Black Ops). The story follows Polly and Tim Thompson and their children Beth, Joe and Fran who find themselves forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. There, the children set on a series of adventures into fantastical worlds at the top of a magical tree in an enchanted forest. Filled with eccentric, beloved characters like Moonface, Silky, Dame Washalot and Saucepan Man, the story has delighted children and adults alike for decades.
The film is a co-production between Neal Street and Elysian Film Group, produced by Pippa Harris, Nicolas Brown, Danny Perkins and Jane Hooks and will be fully financed by Ashland Hill Media Finance.
