The Lebedev Award recognises a singular contribution and dedication to the theatre at the 2023 Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

The star-studded awards ceremony took place on the 19th November at Claridges. On stage at the ceremony Sir Sam Mendes thanked the theatre community saying, "I did not have a functional upbringing but I found in this community a family, a warmth, a wit, a friendship and a joy. In stumbling into it I found a calling. Something I wanted to dedicate my life to."

Motive and the Cue which was directed by Sir Sam Mendes also took home the Best Play Award at the ceremony.
